It will be interesting to see if there has been a paradigm shift in how the typical Indian viewer consumes content and if they will be willing to use a pay-per-view model to watch the latest movies. The platform makes it likely that more top film titles will bypass cinemas and release. Zee Plex will officially launch in the country on the 2nd of October. It’s noteworthy that services such as Tata Sky have tried the pay per view model themselves in the past, but it didn’t gain enough traction. Indian media conglomerate Zee Entertainment Enterprises has announced a premium VOD service Zee Plex. Watch movies, and stream free online TV from anywhere, on any device. However, in a press release, the company said that the prices will be ‘attractive’. Plex is subscription-free streaming that brings your favorite TV shows, popular movies, and live TV straight to you. Key highlight of Zee Plex: o On Television, the service will be available on leading distribution. Zee has not revealed the pricing of Zee Plex just yet. Zee Plex as a C2H service, will also be available on ZEE5 (ZEE’s OTT Platform) globally. You will also be able to book shows before the release date. The service will be available round the clock at various intervals throughout the day. Zee to launch ‘Cinema2Home’ service ‘Zee Plex’ It will be available as a Pay Per View service to subscribers of Dish D2h, Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV and Zee5 BestMediaInfo Bureau Delhi. With Zee Plex, you will have to book before watching movies, like we do when we visit cinema halls.
